AAOP 2020 Annual Meeting Update

The AAOP 2020 Meeting has been rescheduled for September 4-5, 2020 at the Disney Contemporary Hotel and Conference Center.  While there is no guarantee that the meeting will take place we are hopeful that the situation will continue to improve in order to allow our members and professional colleagues to come together for continuing education and for an informative update and dialogue on the ADA’s National Commission recognition of Orofacial Pain as the newest dental specialty.

The program has been revised as listed below and re-titled:
The Newly Approved Dental Specialty of Orofacial Pain: Bridging Medicine and Orofacial Pain Dentistry.  All registrants for the September 2020 meeting will also receive a complimentary 1 year subscription to AAOP's Online Learning/CE.  Included in this subscription will be many of the original 2020 presentations that will not be presented in September, all of the 2018 & 2019 annual scientific meeting presentations that were permitted to be recorded, and additional online learning presentations throughout the year including those presentations that were to occur at the November Sleep Meeting, short topic videos, interactive blogs and podcasts. A subscription to the Online Learning/CE portal will be included with each year's registration to the annual scientific meeting subject to future revision.  The current plan is to include this as an added benefit of registration every year.  All of this is included in your 2020 registration regardless of whether your are pre registered or register at a future date.   Your safety is AAOP's and Disney's number 1 priority.  If, as the meeting approaches, it becomes evident that it is not safe to hold the meeting all of the content and CE will be provided via the AAOP Online Learning/CE Subscription.

If you are registered for the September meeting:
1. You will receive an email indicating that you are now registered for the September meeting and will receive immediate access to the Online Learning/CE Subscription when it is launched (target date is NLT June 6th).  You will receive an email with a link and access code for the subscription that will be good until the end of 2021 at no additional costs.  As mentioned above the subscription to the Online Learning/CE will be included in all future annual scientific meeting registrations subject to revision.
2. Reserve your room via the Disney hotel link provided.  Any park tickets you purchased for the May meeting will be honored by Disney.  Should you choose not to utilize you park tickets this year, Disney will issue you a credit for a future use without an expiration date.
3. If you choose to attend, a detailed list of social distancing protocols will be send to your agreement.
4. The following events will not take place at this year's meeting and all those currently registered for them will receive an immediate credit to their account which can be applied to any future AAOP expense including dues, registration or subscriptions services without expiration: Preconfrence Workshops, Auxiliary/Dental Assistant Program.
5. Options for those currently registered
    A.  Stay registered, attend the meeting and receive the Online Learning/CE subscription free for  one year.
    B.  Cancel and receive a credit toward future AAOP expenses (membership dues, meeting registration or subscription services).  You credit will not expire and can be used for more than one item and does not need to be used all at once.  Note that membership renewal notices will mail in mid September.
    C.  If you have a financial need for a refund due to COVID-19 hardship please contact the AAOP office.
