Biography
A lifelong New Jerseyan, Dr. Michele Schultz-Robins has lived at the Jersey Shore for most of her life. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College in 1985, she returned to New Jersey and received her D.M.D. from UMDNJ (now known as the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) in 1989. While in dental school she served in the leadership position of president of the school's chapter of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. She continued her dental education by completing a general practice residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch and then completed a two year post graduate fellowship in Orofacial and TMD. Dr. Schultz-Robins is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Schultz-Robins is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and Monmouth Medical Center. She had led student research which has been presented at the yearly American Dental Education Association meeting and does practice based research in conjunction with the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network. Her research has been published in the Journal of Dental Education and Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. She held the appointment of chairperson of the TMJ Department at Monmouth Medical Center, and brings her advanced knowledge of TMJ treatments to our patients.
Dr. Schultz-Robins' commitment to Dentistry spans more than two decades. Nationally, she is the chairwoman of the Ethics and Grievance Committee and Bylaws Committee for the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and serves on their governing council. Dr. Schultz-Robins is the Rutgers liaison for the membership committee to NJDA. She is a past trustee of MOCDS and the editor of the Monmouth-Ocean Dental Society newsletter. And she served as delegate for the N.J. Dental Association. Dr. Schultz-Robins participates in her community in many ways. She was a member of the dental team commissioned with the task of identifying 9/11 victims. She has served on a number of trustee boards for various community and charitable organizations. She also has participated in dental mission in the United States Southwest and Jerusalem Israel providing dental care to the underserved,
Dr. Schultz-Robins is married to her husband, Andrew Robins, an attorney. They currently reside in Ocean Township, where they raised their now three adult children
