JADA Pain Update Columns

The Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA) established a quarterly series of Pain Update columns in July, 2010. This was done in collaboration with the Neuroscience Group of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), and Dr. Charles Greene was appointed Section Editor. Since then over a dozen columns have appeared on various topics JADA Pain Update Columns List ,written by a variety of researchers and clinicians around the world. Other topics are in development or awaiting their turn for publication; authors can choose online publication as a another way of presenting their material.

All members of AAOP and their orofacial pain colleagues are invited to consider writing a new column for this series. The process is fairly straightforward: JADA Pain Update columns are topic-oriented, with a real or imaginary case presented to set up the topic. The level of science must be simple and translational; diagrams and small Tables are OK. The word limit is around 1000 words, not counting references, titles, tables, etc. After explaining the pain phenomenon, you can conclude with management and outcome of the case JADA Column Example , All columns are initially reviewed and edited by Dr. Greene, then revised by the authors, and eventually submitted to the officers of the Neuroscience Group of IADR for peer-review. After that review process is concluded (usually in a few weeks), the articles are fast-tracked into the JADA acceptance process.
